Zürcher Theater Spektakel

What does Switzerland sound like? The artist collective Norient has delved into Switzerland’s music and other sound and documented them with videos, audio recordings and texts. Now Norient stages its work as an audiovisual happening. The performers Thomas Burkhalter, Simon Grab and Michael Spahr mix and manipulate rapidly edited clips of different musical styles and interviews, the sounds of cow bells and nature, yodelling, rock, indy and noise music to which they add their own sounds. Live musicians round up this collage which shows Switzerland in surprising, colourful, contradictory and extremely entertaining ways. (ron)
