This «transport performance» by the young Japanese performance art- ist Kiguchi Noriyuki is not just a spectacle, but a hands-on experience for the audience. Noriyuki, who studied architecture and earns his living as a construction worker, founded his company Akumanoshirushi in 2008. Apart from stage projects, they frequently realize artistic interventions which aim at dissolving the boundaries between performers and the audience through playful interaction. For the festival he presents a version of his «Carry-in-Project». Inspired by the traditional Shinto festivals, during which people carry a shrine around the neighborhoods, he will ask the audience to help carry a huge, snake-like bamboo sculpture across the festival site.
